Dr. Zepeda was born and raised in Chicago. As a young child she loved spending time following her father, who is also a physician, around the hospital. For as long as she can remember, she wanted to be a doctor and pursued her premedical studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying Spanish and chemistry. At the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Dr. Zepeda became enamored with the field of ophthalmology. She views the specialty as a way to combine her passion for serving the community with her interests in research and her desire to develop intricate clinical and surgical skills. Dr. Zepeda could not be more thrilled to start her training in ophthalmology at the University of Washington. Outside of medicine, Dr. Zepeda enjoys cheering for the Chicago White Sox, a night out salsa dancing and painting the incredible Pacific Northwest scenery.
