Dr. Saraf was raised in Longview, Washington but has traveled extensively before returning home to complete his training at University of Washington. As an undergraduate, he attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he studied biology and English. He then attended medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and went on to complete his internship and ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Within ophthalmology, Dr. Saraf found a special interest in posterior segment disease and surgery. He went on to study uveitis, completing a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute under the direction of Dr. Janet Davis. There he focused his research efforts on posterior segment conditions with a particular interest in birdshot chorioretinopathy. He is currently completing his surgical retina fellowship at University of Washington, which will allow him to provide comprehensive care for patients with retinal and uveitic conditions.
