Biography

Dr. Chambers grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and knew he wanted to be an ophthalmologist from a very young age.  His father is a retina surgeon and was the ophthalmology residency director at Ohio State for 15 years.  His mother is a nurse who works in ophthalmology and his sister is a glaucoma specialist.  

Dr. Chambers earned his bachelor of science at the University of Notre Dame.  He went to medical school at The Ohio State University before completing his internship at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.  Dr. Chambers did his residency at the Kresge Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident.  Following residency, Dr. Chambers completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Before joining the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington, Dr. Chambers was a faculty member at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine from 2011 until 2015.  He was the Associate Residency Program Director and won the medical school teaching award while on staff.  Dr. Chambers served as a team physician for the Chicago Blackhawks and treated many players for the Chicago Cubs.

Dr. Chambers is a clinician-educator and has a passion for teaching fellows, residents and medical students.  He specializes in oculofacial plastic surgery and is dedicated to providing the best medical and surgical care to his patients. Dr. Chambers lives in Seattle with his wife, an oculoplastic surgeon, and enjoys running, biking, skiing, swimming, cooking, photography, and especially college football.
