Dr. Toop was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Edinburgh and continued on to earn his PhD there as well. Subsequently Dr. Toop completed a research fellowship at UCLA. After being involved in research for several years he undertook further education and earned his OD from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.
