Imagine bringing the gift of sight to hundreds of people a day in developing countries where malnutrition, inadequate health and education services, poor water quality and lack of sanitation are the norm. That's exactly what Dr. Richard Munsen, Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the UW Medicine Eye Institute, did on his recent volunteer service trip with the Himalayan Cataract Project. Join Dr. Munsen as he talks about the global burden of treatable eye diseases and his experience providing retinal examinations and laser surgeries to patients in Nepal.
