    Come to a Q&A With Representative Cyrus Habib and learn about the Life Science Discovery Fund

    He is a Rhodes Scholar, a Truman Scholar, and a graduate of Columbia University (Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa), Oxford University, and Yale Law School, where he served as Editor of the Yale Law Journal.   Rep. Cyrus Habib of the 48th District, lost his eyesight to cancer at age eight but clearly the absence of sight has not deterred him from pursuing the life of a visionary.

    Born in Maryland to parents who emigrated from Iran, Habib is the first Iranian-American elected to state office in the United States, and is the highest ranking Iranian-American in political office.  In 2012, Habib, a Democrat, was elected with over 61% of the vote to represent Washington's 48th Legislative District, which includes Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Kirkland, Medina, Redmond, and Yarrow Point, in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Habib as he shares his inspirational story and talks about the importance of supporting vision research through the Life Science Discovery Fund. The Life Sciences Discovery Fund supports innovative research in Washington state to promote life sciences competitiveness, enhance economic vitality, and improve health and health care.
