Alyssa Bonnell, MD

Dr. Bonnell was born and raised in Princeton, NJ. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Societies: Public Health. After graduation, Dr. Bonnell moved to Seattle, WA where she enjoyed working with clay and glaze as a ceramic artist before attending medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.

As a medical student, Dr. Bonnell worked with the research team at NJRetina in New Brunswick, NJ under the mentorship of Jonathan Prenner, MD. Her interest in ophthalmology grew through her research with the team concerning secondary intraocular lens surgery and macular holes. Dr. Bonnell is thrilled to be back in the Pacific Northwest to begin her training in ophthalmology at the University of Washington. When not in the hospital, you can find her in her art studio or out hiking with her husband and their husky.
