Amy Yuan, MD, grew up in Sydney, Australia, before moving to the US for college. She graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, then stayed on to earn her MD from Yale School of Medicine. After relocating to Boston for an internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in medicine, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. During residency, she developed an interest in both complex anterior segment surgery as well as the wide spectrum of medical and surgical retinal diseases, and is involved in research projects exploring new surgical techniques for intraocular lens fixation and retinal imaging. She is excited to move to the Pacific Northwest to pursue fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and traveling, and has recently rediscovered her love for bridge.
