Hannah Hashimi, MD

PGY - 4 Resident

Biography

Dr. Hashimi was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and completed her undergraduate education at Auburn University, where she studied Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. She then attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (the 4th in her family to pursue a career in medicine!). There, she studied the social determinants of health and culinary medicine to bring nutrition to a food-insecure population.

She found her love for ophthalmology through working to rehabilitate patients back into a functional quality of life and helping them return to work after significant loss of vision. She is now moving out of Alabama for the first time to join the University of Washington after completing an away rotation here last year. She is thrilled to participate in the first integrated Internal Medicine Prelim/ Ophthalmology class to start her time in the Pacific Northwest early! In her free time, she enjoys hiking around lakes, landscape photography, creating new recipes, and cross-stitching. Her long-term goal to visit every National Park in America!
