Dr. Tsukikawa was born in Fukushima, Japan, and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She moved across the country to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she studied Biology and Biochemistry. She remained there to obtain her Master's Degree in Biotechnology while working as a Translational Research Assistant at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She remained in Philadelphia to pursue her Medical Degree at Thomas Jefferson University. She fell in love with Ophthalmology while engaging in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Genetics Research at Wills Eye Hospital. After a decade in Philadelphia, she was thrilled to match at the University of Washington and move to Seattle. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington and is excited to start her training in Ophthalmology. In her free time, Dr. Tsukikawa enjoys baking and cooking, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two cats, Bach and Holiday.
