Dr. Petersen was born and raised in southern Idaho. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Eastern Oregon University. She completed her medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Washington and an AUPO fellowship in glaucoma at the prestigious Stein Eye Institute at the University of California Los Angeles.
Dr. Petersen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington. She is a glaucoma specialist who also specializes in cataract surgery.
Dr. Petersen currently lives in Seattle. In her free time, she enjoys reading and exploring the beautiful pacific northwest nature.
