Dr. Jung was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in the upstate NY area. His formal training includes undergraduate education at Cornell University. He went on to receive training and a Medical Degree from the University of Rochester. Subsequently he completed Internship in Johnson City, NY, Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Buffalo and Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Fellowship Training at the University of Rochester.
