About
Dr. Satterfield was born in Vallejo, California but raised in Medford, Oregon. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Oregon. There she co‐captained the women’s club volleyball team, participated in respiratory physiology research, and became an avid Duck football fan (go DUCKS!). During her gap year between undergraduate and medical school, she had the opportunity to work in Peru providing free eye care at a rural clinic. It was this experience that solidified her love of Ophthalmology and her desire to enter the field of medicine, to help those in need. Dr. Satterfield then migrated south to begin medical school at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, where she worked in the student‐run free clinic and pursued Ophthalmology research in the fields of Glaucoma and Oculoplastics. Upon graduation, she was honored with the Merck Award for Outstanding Academic Accomplishments, an award given to the top 3 medical students per graduating class. She then completed her transitional year internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, volleyball, watching movies, gardening, and doing art projects. Dr. Satterfield is excited to be back in the Pacific Northwest and looks forward to enjoying the seasons again.
