Cory Dude
Cory moved from the East Coast to Seattle in 2008. She is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Washington, although she is now retired.
Following her 2024 lens replacement to address glaucoma and “narrow-angle” risk, her vision is nearly 20/20. Among the benefits of her improved vision, she notes the physical safety that better vision enables, saying how less stressful it is to walk on a sidewalk and able to view irregularities in one’s path without limitation. In Cory’s view, the national goal of reducing the incidence of falls by the elderly would be well-served by the Medicare and Medicaid programs, taking a broad view of authorizing lens replacement for those who seek it.
Back East, Cory chaired the Founding Board of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of New Jersey. In Seattle, Cory has interacted with SDOT and its Community Action Boards to solicit improvements in pedestrian safety.
