Biography

Dr. Attiku was born in India, where she attended medical school at Kasturba Medical College and completed her Ophthalmology residency at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences. During her residency, she dealt with a high volume of patients and developed a particular interest in Retina and Uveitis. She then went on to further her skills in this field by finishing a Vitreoretinal fellowship from Sankara Nethralaya in India. An opportunity beckoned from California, and Dr. Attiku went on to obtain a research position in Retina and Retinal imaging at the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angles. She then completed her fellowship in Medical Retina from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Dr. Attiku joins the team at the University of Washington to focus on Uveitis bringing with her a wealth of experience and training. Her research interest includes imaging in Retinal and Uveitic diseases of the eye. She has authored multiple research papers and book chapters on advanced retinal imaging.

Outside of work, Dr. Attiku shares a passion for hiking and nature and finds herself at home in the abundant parks and trails that the state of Washington offers.
