Biography
Yue Wu is an Acting Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology. He completed his BA in statistics at Harvard University and then earned his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Cambridge. He joined the Department of Ophthalmology, working with Dr. Van Gelder and the Lee Lab in 2017. His scientific interests include statistics, probability, graphical models, Monte Carlo and Sequential Carlo methods, and deep learning.

Research focus
Developing deep learning methods to diagnose ophthalmic and other diseases, as well as identify, locate and quantify disease features.
Developing deep learning methods to generalize algorithms that were trained on datasets from one device or modality to other imaging devices and modalities without laboriously collecting additional annotations
Developing machine learning methods to isolate and quantify the contribution of variables to outcomes. For example, the contribution of genes or proteins to a certain disease.
