Biography
Dr. Monical grew up in Illinois and was raised between her hometown of Pontiac and Des Plaines. She attended Marquette University for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in biology and began neuroscience research. She later joined the medical scientist training program at University of Chicago, earning her PhD in neurobiology and her medical degree.
She chose a career in ophthalmology because it allows her to build trusting relationships with patients while treating vision through medicine, microsurgery, and research. Outside of medicine, she enjoys live theater, board games, boxing, D&D, reading, and running. She is excited to explore the natural beauty of the PNW and get to know the city of Seattle.
