Biography
Dr. Chou (he/him/his) grew up in South Carolina before venturing to Chicago for his undergraduate and medical education at Northwestern University. He concurrently completed a Master’s degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities during his time at Northwestern. He continued his journey west to Seattle for his ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington. He then went on to complete a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Stein/Doheny Eye Institute at UCLA prior to returning to Seattle to join the University of Washington’s ophthalmology department as faculty.
Dr. Chou is dedicated to both patient care and resident/medical student teaching. He lives in Seattle and enjoys staying active through rock climbing and partner dancing.

Clinical Interests
Dr. Chou is a neuro-ophthalmologist and specializes in conditions regarding the visual pathway and eye movement disorders, including (but not limited to) optic neuropathies, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, nystagmus, and diplopia.
Dr. Chou performs strabismus surgery and botulinum toxin injections, in addition to other procedures.
Research Focus
Dr. Chou’s research interests include medical ethics and imaging/monitoring of neuro-ophthalmic diseases.
