Dr. Matthew Zhang was born and raised in Beijing, China. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington in Neurobiology and Biochemistry.

He completed his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute and ASOPRS fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.
