Elevated Intraocular Pressure after Cataract Surgery and Risk of Glaucoma (Podcast)
Drs. Taravati and Lee are the authors of “Elevated Intraocular Pressure Immediately after Cataract Surgery and Future Risk of Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma in the IRIS® Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight).”
The paper was published in the November-December 2025 edition of Ophthalmology Science. Co-authors included Nayoon Gim, BS, Yu Jiang, PhD, Assistant Professor Andrew Chen, MD and Affiliate Professor Aaron Lee, MD.
Together, Drs. Lee and Taravati discuss the association between postoperative intraocular pressure after cataract surgery and the future risk of developing primary open-angle glaucoma in patients without prior diagnoses of glaucoma, glaucoma suspect, or ocular hypertension.
